Volskygge just kept staring at me every time I looked at the map in that general area and I couldn’t think why I had to go there, so I figured that, since I have a good follower and a horse, I’ll go see what it is I have to do. I sort of got a bit lost while in there and started going through somewhere that was completely different to where I originally started.

I got to the end which resulted in having to kill a Draugr Death Overlord or something, got his ebony sword and searched in a nearby chest to find a book which was needed to complete a quest from the Mage’s College. Upon leaving the place through what I can only describe as the back door, the ominous music started playing, a quick look around saw that there was one of those walls with scripture on that give you a Shout. After doing that, some … thing came out of nowhere and fought like a nub, got killed and mask taken (not the one I’m wearing in the featured picture) and that was that.

The one problem is that two of them are Mages unless you count the one from the Companions, but anyway, I chose Mjoll the Lioness as apparently, she’s an essential character that can’t die by any means. Not even by you if you accidentally swing your weapon and hit her or if she’s low on health and a random arrow suddenly pops into her and takes her out.

Her quest was surprisingly easy, all you have to do is retrieve her sword of which she lost due to almost dying in the place, but when going to the place, going through and reaching the end, it makes you wonder if she’s really that tough and why she’s essential and can’t die.

Anyway, she’s following me now and I guess we’ll see just how immortal she is…

I completed a quest which basically meant clearing out a cave and leading a woman out of there, but it turns out that she doesn’t follow you completely out of the cave and the only way is to try and shove her out somehow.

It’s a bug that needs to be fixed and from what I can see in the 1.4 update (that has been released on Steam for PC gamers and a console update coming soon), hasn’t been dealt with.

I like a good, funny golf game that’s all about fun and not serious like the Tiger Woods ones, although, I have been known to play one or two of those, but I prefer fun golf games like Everybody’s Golf.

The good thing is that games like this can be bought quite cheap on Steam when they have sales, which is what I did and while I haven’t really played it for a long length of time, I enjoy every minute that I do!

As usual, Sven (my companion) started to attack it, but since all we had to do was go back into the cave to escape, I could just let it fly away until another time… or so I thought. I would go into the cave, but Sven decided to stay out there, which meant it took a few attempts for him to follow me and let it go.

Then while having fast-travelled somewhere, a dragon was nearby and appeared to be swooping down to somewhere, which we found to be bandits who helped a little with knocking off some of its energy.

I still don’t understand why my character is a Wood Elf and not a Dark Elf though, I’m sure I created it as a Dark Elf… Also, I wondered why my horse, Frost had disappeared from under me when fast-travelling to the Mages College, then realised it was the angle the view was at. For some reason, the horse isn’t seen if you’re close to a wall and view from a certain angle, to be honest, the whole handling of camera viewing with horses is pretty bad in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, worse than in Oblivion.

I also bought the downloadable content, although, I bought four on disk and Mothership Zeta on the Xbox Live Marketplace, I love the game so much, I even bought the PC GOTY (Game of the Year) version of Fallout 3, so that I could play it all over again and, without realising, obtain all the achievements again since it uses Games for Windows Live (GFWL).

I did the same with Fallout New Vegas, I bought the Xbox 360 version, but only have about two of the downloadable content at the moment due to there not being the same kind of sales as on Steam. I already have EVERYTHING to do with Fallout New Vegas on PC, but there’s just one thing holding me back from playing and loving it as much as Fallout 3, the Dead Money DLC.

I’ve found it quite difficult to a stage where I’m not enjoying it any more and it’s just getting frustrating. I’ll get back to it one day to try and finish it, but I’m in no hurry, I just hope I get it done and never have to endure something as unpleasant as that again.

With the ability to use up to eight characters to guess the full anagram, when you get bullplop words like ‘Frogeyes’, you know that the game isn’t quite playing by the rules. It spoils the fun of it when the AI come up with words you’ve never heard of or seem too stupid to be real and the thing is, some of them shouldn’t be used without proper punctuation like a hyphen, if the word should be hyphenated, then it shouldn’t be used.

I admit, I lost a game, but I’m not a sore loser, I just know when I’ve been done…

Before I go on, for the first time in the game (I think you have to get the Explorer achievement) I heard not one, but two guards say, “I used to be an adventurer like you, but I took an arrow in the knee”, so for that, I award myself:

If I’d known that Riften was so easy, I would have gone there sooner to level up more, but I sort of went the other way and truddled around the opposite side of Skyrim first. Never mind though, I did a task which involved taking out some mercenaries who turned out to be one hit wonders, one hit and they were dead and took their steel plate armour for me and Sven (my companion for now), to steal deeds for a horse and to return that horse to someone who you can then persuade to let you keep or you’ll tell someone on them.

Despite having the deeds to the horse though, I still don’t technically own it, but can ride it any time… pretty much like any of the other horses at Riften and this is a town which has the Thieves Guild? I’m surprised anyone bothers to live there, but if they’re so gullible… oh yeah, and I need to figure out why someone keeps following me around (not my companion, a Khajiit).

I’ll need to play more, obviously, but at the moment, nothing stands out as being anything but the original game all spruced up with shiny visuals. I hope it really is more than just a polished version of the original Sonic, but I have to admit that I kind of bought it blind, I didn’t bother to read up about it and what it was about, so I suppose it’s my fault.

I also bought Sonic CD and that really is just Sonic the Hedgehog CD remade, but that’s for another post…

My way of doing it made things a hell of a lot easier than I’d anticipated, you don’t have to read the next bit, but it helps if you haven’t done the Forbidden Legend quests and made it to Reachwater Rock to forge the amulet fragments back together.

I fought the first  ’Keeper’ and found it a little difficult to beat him, but once some Draugr have been defeated, I backed up into one of their … caskets(?) and started using my bow and arrow, which was more effective than originally thought and defeated the other two Keepers without much of  problem.

Once that was over, looted the place as much as I could and exited, then made my way to Delphine who was waiting for me in Riverwood, did the quest yada yada and eventually got to learn the last part of…

That didn’t help me much when I worked my way over to Markarth where, upon arrival, I witnessed a murder which eventually put me in some kind of jail where we (after an unnecessary sequence of events) escape. I’m not exactly sure if it’s safe to go back there or who is running the city now, but I have some unfinished business to attend to…
